Terms & conditions

Last updated 8 September 2026

1. Who you are contracting with

UKE IT! is operated by Aaron Weston, trading as UKE IT! ("we", "us"). These terms form an agreement between you and Aaron Weston. Questions can be sent to support@ukeit.app.

2. Acceptance

By creating an account, subscribing, or continuing to use UKE IT! you agree to these terms. If you are using UKE IT! on behalf of an organisation you confirm you have authority to bind it; if you are an individual you confirm you are of legal age in your country.

3. What the service does

UKE IT! listens to audio you choose (your microphone, an instrument input, your desktop audio, a browser tab or a file you load), estimates chords, key, tempo and strum patterns, and shows how to play the result on ukulele. Recording, practice tools and AI arrangements are available depending on your plan. Detection and arrangement results are best-effort estimates, not authoritative transcriptions.

3a. Community clips

You can film yourself playing and share the clip with other members. Clips hosted on this site must be your own original music or a tune from our approved public-domain list; for any other song you may share a link to your own video on YouTube instead, where that platform's rights system applies. Every shared clip carries a playtheeukulele.com mark. You keep the rights in your performance and grant us permission to show it to members while it is posted; you can remove your clip at any time. We remove clips that breach these terms or that a rights holder asks us to take down — write to us at the contact address below.

4. Your account

Keep your login credentials confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account. Provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.

5. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use UKE IT! unlawfully, or for fraud or spam;
  • infringe anyone's intellectual property, including by uploading or capturing audio you have no right to use;
  • interfere with the security of the service — malware, probing, scraping, or circumventing plan limits;
  • reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the service or its content;
  • upload photos of anyone other than yourself, or anyone who has not consented, for performance videos.

6. Content, arrangements and generated media

You keep the rights in the audio, photos and prompts you provide, and you grant us a limited licence to host and process them solely to deliver the service. You are responsible for having the rights to the material you feed in, for how you use charts, arrangements and generated videos, and for verifying accuracy before relying on them. Rights-holders can request a takedown at support@ukeit.app; repeated infringement leads to account termination. We may remove content, filter outputs, or suspend accounts to enforce these terms.

7. Intellectual property

We retain ownership of UKE IT!, including its software, detection engines, chord libraries, documentation and branding. Your plan grants a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service.

8. Service level

We work to keep UKE IT! available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

9. Payments and subscriptions

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, applicable taxes, renewal, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by the Paddle Buyer Terms. Subscriptions renew for the term you selected (monthly or annual) until cancelled. Our refund policy also applies.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. You can cancel at any time. When access ends you may export your charts for 30 days, after which your data may be deleted.

11. Liability

Our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. We exclude indirect, consequential and special damages, including lost profits, data or goodwill. Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury where the law does not allow it. You indemnify us against claims arising from your content, your unlawful use, or your breach of these terms.

12. General

These terms are governed by the laws of the seller's jurisdiction, and its courts have jurisdiction over disputes. You may not assign this agreement without our consent; we may assign it in a merger or acquisition. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control. We may update these terms and will post the new date above.

13. Audio credits

The recorded ukulele notes used for playback come from the public-domain (CC0 1.0) sample set "samples-ukulele" by thgrund, recorded from an Ortega Lizard ukulele. They are reshaped in your browser for each ukulele type. Any clip you upload to match your own instrument is measured on your device and is never uploaded or stored by us.
